They are a blend of math therapy, instruction, interaction, individual attention, and in-class practice combined with humor, increased self-confidence, and techniques to de-escalate math fears and anxieties.

math student searching for treasure where x marks the spot; high stakes dangerous adventur

PreAlgebra:
X Marks the Spot

Grab your compass and your pencil - this class is going on a math adventure! We'll uncover hidden answers, decode number mysteries, and map out the steps to algebra success. Whether you're charting coordinates, cracking equations, or navigating number lines, one big truth remains: X always marks the spot and is a treasure waiting to be discovered.

Join Ms. Cooper on a journey to conquer this plot twist in the average student's math journey - abstract thinking is hard, but these are the building blocks that future math and reasoning will stand on. Math. Can. Be. Fun.

Math block is 2 hours. First hour is direct PreAlgebra instruction. Second hour is designed for students to begin working on their assignments while Algebra 1 instruction occurs (think one-room schoolhouse); second hour is not mandatory, but encouraged.

Algebra 1: The OG Struggle

Algebra 1 is the "Original Gangster" of high school math, with X bringing that main character energy. This class will dive into mastering the fundamentals of alge-bruhh -  solving equations, working with functions, understanding variables, and more.

Join Ms. Cooper on a journey to conquer this common sticking point in high school and (hopefully) make this math adventure a little less dreaded and a lot more fun!

Algebra 2:
The Sequel No One Asked For

Thought Algebra 1 was the end? Nu-uh! Welcome to the sequel no one asked for! Get ready to wade through the thrilling waters of quadratic functions, polynomials, conic sections, logarithms, and more with Ms. Cooper—because apparently, we just can’t get enough of this math stuff.

This course picks up right where you left off from Algebra 1 and moves forward in ways that can be just as entertaining and engaging as the first class. Students may enter Algebra 2 after taking Algebra 1 or Geometry

Geometry: Proofs or Nah?

This class is the logic side quest from the world of algebra with a different vibe - will you measure up to the challenge? Join Ms. Cooper and explore a world filled with angles that will leave you feeling sharp along with shapes that are just plane awesome.

This class examines points, angles (and their relationships), the properties of triangles, squares, and circles... and, yes, there will be some two-column tortu... I mean... proofs. Get ready to take the MEH out of geometry and see how exciting this optional (but not really) side quest can be.
